Philadelphia man arrested after being spotted at burglarized Newark home

A Philadelphia man, who had done home improvement work on a Newark home was arrested after being seen at the residence. Newark Police identified the suspect as Xue Gao, 41.

At 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, police went Eleanor’s Wa The victims returned home and discovered a man in their home, who jumped out of a second story window. The residents chased the suspect but lost sight of the man.

They also recognized the suspect as an individual who had done home improvement work at the residence. An officer later saw a man who fit the suspect’s description near the 300 block of Possum Park Road. where Gao was taken into custody without incident.

The jewelry taken from the home has not been recovered.

Gas was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree Theft $1,500 or Greater and Victim is 62 years of Age or Older Criminal Mischief Under $1,000

Gao was held in lieu of $7,750 cash bail.
