Delaware beers return to Camden Yards;Dogfish rum honored

Fordham & Dominion Brewing Co. beers are again available at 20 locations in Oriole Park at Camden Yards during the 2013 season.

For the fourth straight year, the brewery is offering Hop Mountain Pale Ale, Copperhead Ale, Rams Head IPA, Oak Barrel Stout, and seasonal varieties to thirsty craft beer consumers at the stadium.

Over the course of the season, Fordham & Dominion host a variety of events for baseball fans   Casey Hollingsworth, vice president of sales at Fordham & Dominion Brewing, stated, “It’s exciting to see the continued commitment to local craft beer from both the Orioles and Delaware North.  Together we can help to raise awareness and offer fans more choices and options at the ballpark,” said Casey Hollingsworth, vice president of the brewery. In 2007, Fordham and Dominion set up shop in a free-standing brewery in Dover. The craft brews have maintained their separate identities.

Delaware beer on the deck

If you want to sample Delaware brews without making a road trip, check out the Delaware on the Deck Opening Party & Celebration of Delaware’s Best Beers on April 27 at the Iron Hill Brewery Wilmington location. The event begins at 4 p.m.

Brews will be available from 6 Mile Brewing Company, 3rd Wave Brewing Company, Argilla Brewing Company, Dogfish Head, Fordham Brewing Company, Stewart’s Brewing Company, Twin Lakes Brewing Company, Iron Hill Brewery, Newark and Wilmington. Live music will follow at 8 p.m.

For the second year in a row, Dogfish Head’s Brown Honey Rum won best-in-category in the American Distilling Institute’s seventh-annual Judging of Artisan American Spirits. The event featured more than 300 distilled spirits.

 Brown Honey Rum, made with Delaware honey from Bee Natural, won in the “Flavored Rum” category.

Bottles are available for takeout for $25 each at the company’s restaurant in Rehoboth Beach.
