According to Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations, the new schedule was the result of customer feedback.

“From our comment cards, telephone calls, and even a number of conversations onboard the ferries, we’ve had many customer requests to have earlier departures on both sides of the Delaware Bay,” Gehrke said.

Gehrke said that the new schedule allows commercial and leisure travelers to get an earlier start on their trip. It will also make it easier for people to use the ferry for day trips, with more time for locals and visitors to explore the attractions and adventures available on the other side of the Bay and still return home the same day.

The current base schedule is effective from April 1 to October 31 and will be re-evaluated at that time.”

The Cape May – Lewes Ferry is owned and operated by the Delaware River and Bay Authority.
