One hundred people were on hand for the launch of Press Release Delaware at PressDe.org . The event was held at Ulysses Gastropub in north Wilmington
The initiative from Rodney Jordan and Tom Kovach of Aid Assist of Delaware aims to link nonprofit organizations and small businesses to the media.
The event had nonprofits and small businesses submitting press releases that were distributed to members of the media, with the goal of publication, airing on broadcast outlets or use as background for stories or broadcasts.
Plans call for Press Release Delaware to distribute press release via the website, email, Facebook and Twitter. The website has not yet gone live, although information is available at the Facebook site.
The organization plans to hold future events and education sessions, Jordan and Kovach said. Jordan is a longtime marketing director and leader in Delaware’s social media community. Kovach is a former New Castle County Council President who recently ran for Congress.
