State Police are investigating an early morning crash of a minivan into a dry cleaning store.
Jose D. Garcia was attempting to back his 1999 Dodge Caravan out of a parking space adjacent to the Hockessin Cleaners at 7313 Lancaster Pike at about 2:25 a.m., troopers reported. The investigation indicated Garcia’s foot slipped off the brake and the vehicle lurched forward into the side of the building.
Garcia was not injured in the crash and was transported by troopers to Troop 6 where he was issued a citation for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
New Castle County code enforcement officials declared the building unsafe.
