[Not a valid template]On March 5th, CBRE Auction Services will hold an online auction or Jefferson Plaza at 1001 Jefferson St. in downtown Wilmington.

Jefferson Plaza is classified as a Class B office building with 165,772 square feet of rentable area. It has housed a number of banking and other operations over the years, but now has a 9 percent occupancy rate.

Class B office buildings have taken a hit during the economic downturn as some tenants snapped up deals on Class A office space or vacated space while consolidating operations.

The advertisement for the property cited its location in the central business district and a layout that features six contiguous, vacant 21,000 square foot floor plates that can attract a larger user.

Also cited was the investment of the landlord, a real estate investment truck in the property.
