The National Weather Service had placed the county under a Winter Weather Advisory. Snowfall totals may range from 1-4 inches, with higher amounts in the north and lower in southern portions of the county. That did not happen.
By contest, New England is seeing two feet or more of snow.
Thousands of flights have already been canceled and authorities are warning those traveling to New England that motorists could be stranded on interstates and other roads and would have to await rescue by military vehicles or snowmobiles.
