High winds bring power outages to region

A few thousand Delmarva Power customers were without electricity on Thursday morning, after high winds hit the area.

The utility’s outage map showed about 2,500  customers without power. The outages appeared to be concentrated in Kent, Sussex and Talbot county  in Maryland.

Delaware Electric Cooperative reported only a few customers were without power in Kent and Sussex counties.

The winds came as a powerful front moved through the area during the night bringing rain and a few reports of flooding.
