2 men rob Jake’s Wayback Burgers store near Elsmere

DelSTATEPolicelogweb (2)State Police are investigating an armed robbery of the Jake’s Wayback Burgers,  2405 Kirkwood Highway, near Elsmere, Wednesday night.

 At 8:57 p.m. , two suspects entered the store carrying handguns. One suspect entered through the front door and vaulted the front counter, while the other  entered through the back door. Two employees and two customers were forced to kneel or lie on the ground, while a third employee was forced to empty the cash registers.

 Troopers said the suspects forced all three employees and both customers to lie on the ground, where their hands were bound behind their backs with zip ties. Both suspects then fled from the rear of the business.

Suspects are described as follows:

  • Black male, 20-30 years old, approximately 6 ft. tall, thin build, wearing a black jacket, jeans, and a mask.
  • Black male, 20-30 years old, wearing a mask.State Police are asking anyone with information in reference to contact the Robbery Unit at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 extension 6.
