The Delaware State Police have arrested and charged a 19-year-old Bear, Delaware woman in connection with a fatal hit and run crash that occurred on September 25, 2012 in  Glasgow.

Brenda M. Nazario was charged on Tuesday,  after the completion of the investigation into the fatal hit and run crash that left one woman dead and another injured.

Maria Eldreth, 52  and Judith Johnson, 67,  were walking in an eastbound direction on Corporate Boulevard in Pencader Corporate Center  when they were struck from behind by a 2002 Honda CRV traveling eastbound on Corporate Boulevard operated by Nazario. Eldreth and Johnson were taken to  Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where Johnson was treated and released with non life threatening injuries. Eldreth later died.

Troopers said  Nazario fled in the Honda and failed to stop to render aid for either victim. At approximately 3  p.m. the same day, Nazario  went  to Delaware State Police Troop 2 and reported that she had struck an unknown object on  Interstate 95.

Detectives were able to connect Nazario and the Honda CRV to the  crash that occurred earlier the same day.

After  an  investigation by the State Police and the Delaware Attorney General’s Office,  detectives obtained warrants charging Nazario with  Leaving the  Scene of an Accident.

She was arraigned and released on $10,000 unsecured bond.
