Newark Police are investigating an armed robbery at around 9 p.m. Sunday at the Exxon at at 820 South College Avenue on Del. Route 896.
Officers said a white male suspect entered the store, displayed a black semi-automatic handgun at the male clerk, age 33 and demanded money from the cash register. When the clerk opened the register, the suspect reached over the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect then fled the store on foot to a beige or grey passenger car waiting on Plymouth Drive. The clerk was not injured.
The suspect is described as a 20-22 year-old male approximately 5 ft, 10 inches tall with an average build. The suspect was wearing a baseball cap, white t-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.
