Gas prices are headed downward in Delaware, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic. The auto club’s Fuel Price Finder reported average prices as low as $3.62 in Bear as of Saturday, down nearly 9 cents from a year earlier. Prices fell below $3.60 a gallon at some stations.
Average gas prices were $3.75 in Dover and $3.73 in Dover.
Gas prices have remained stubbornly high since Labor Day, the traditional end of the summer driving season. The issue found its way to last week’s presidential debate with Gov. Mitt Romney taking note of the sharp increase in gas prices since President Obama took office in 2008.
