Barricaded suspect taken from Wild Quail home identified

Delaware State Police have identified the man who barricaded himself in a home in the Wild Quail community

John M. Deane, 49, Camden-Wyoming, was taken into custody on Monday after he was released from a local hospital for s self-inflicted injuries he sustained during an October 3rd stand-off.

Deane was charged with two counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, two counts of Reckless Endangering 2nd, Aggravated Menacing, Assault 3rd, Terroristic Threatening, and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned at JP2 and held on $18,000 bail.

Delaware State Police, at around 10:10 p.m. Oct. 8,  entered a house on Green Winged Trail at Wild Quail, Camden  and located Deane who had barricaded himself inside. The incident apparently began after a domestic dispute.

He  was found suffering from self-inflicted gunshot wounds that are now being treated.  The Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team and Conflict Management Team  worked to  make contact with the male subject.

Residents in the area were  evacuated. Wild Quail is an upscale residential area near a country club with the same name.
