A large East Coast social media event is headed to Wilmington.
Podcamp East will combine events in previously held in Boston and Philadelphia into one weekend session in Delaware beginning Saturday. The site is the Delaware Technical and Community College campus in Wilmington. Confirmed as a speaker for the event is U.S. Sen. Chris Coons, an advocate for technology during his time in the upper chamber.
Podcamp started in Boston. It provides an opportunity for persons in a variety of professions to learn more about new media that includes video, blogging, the WorldwideWeb and social media. The name comes out of Podcasting, the use of audio on the web.
