Delaware State Police investigated a two vehicle crash involving a DART transit bus Monday night on New Castle Avenue, sending multiple passengers of the bus to area hospitals.
At about 8:30 p.m. a DART Bus driven by Nicholas Stevenson of Folsom, Pa, was stopped on the right shoulder of New Castle Avenue southbound at Ryan Avenue and was discharging and boarding passengers.
A 1991 Chevrolet Astro Van, driven by Earl Henry, 62, of New Castle was traveling New Castle Avenue southbound and struck the rear of the bus.
Fifteen passengers of the DART Bus were transported by ambulance to area hospitals for minor injuries and or evaluation. Henry was cited for Inattentive Driving.
The roadway was closed for 90 minutes while the crash was investigated and cleared.
