3 shot after dispute erupts outside Vince's Sports Center

Delaware State Police detectives continue to investigate an afternoon shooting in the parking of Vince’s Sports Center, south of Newark.

The incident occurred at about 1:20 p.m., Friday, when a dispute erupted among a group of about eight men, 18 to 22 years old who were not customers of the sports center and a  couple who were on the golf course area.

The argument became physical in the rear parking lot, at the entrance to the golf course. The male suspect produced a handgun and discharged several rounds in the direction of the group, striking three victims in the lower body.

The suspects fled in a vehicle on Del. Route 4.

The victims and the rest of the group left the area on foot prior to police arriving at the scene.

The three victims went to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening gunshot wounds to the lower body. Conditions reports were not available.

Detectives continue their investigation into this incident.
