Pennsylvania-based grocer, Redner’s Markets, Inc. plans to open a third location in the Dover area and a fourth in Delaware.

CEO, Richard Redner this week announced a second warehouse market in Dover with a tentative summer 2013 opening. Work is also under way on a  locatoin on DuPont Highway in Camden, Del., with a store in Milford opening recently.

Redner’s began expansion into Delaware with the opening of its Dover area store in 2008 on U.S. Route 13, near Cheswold.

Redner cited the company’s success in the Dover and Milford areas as a factor in planning a fourth store.

The plans confirm Redner’s strategy to  grab a dominant market share in a fractured Dover grocery market that has been hit over the years by store closings and a lack of aggressiveness in expansion plans by long-time players like Acme.

The Dover store will be located at 25 Greentree Drive, Dover in the Greentree Village Center.

The store will include renovations and expansion of the existing building, formerly occupied by a Superfresh store. The remodeling project will include an  addition of 10,000 square feet to the existing location , bringing the size approximately 48,500 square feet.

In full operation, this store will employ approximately 120 people in both full and part-time positions.

Redner’s Markets, Inc., an employee owned company, currently operates 41 markets  and 13 Quick Shoppes in eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware.
