ILC Dover played a key role in last week’s flight of an airship designed to stay in the air for lengthy periods and monitor troop movements.
According to the UAS Vision site, the Long Endurance Multi-Intelligence Vehicle flew for 90 minutes out of Lakehurst, N.J.
Prime contractor is Northrop Grumman.
The airship is designed to stay in the air for weeks at a time gathering intelligence over ground troops.
ILC Dover, best known for space suits and other protective materials, did hull fabrication and seaming for the airship.
The company is based in Frederica, Del.
