In a development that shows the economic impact of the  saturation in the gaming market, a small casino in the county bordering Delaware wants  the state to take back 400 to 500 of its 1,500 slot machines at the end of the year.

CecilDaily.com  reported that The Hollywood Casino in Perryville cited a projected 30 percent drop in revenue that is not expected to go away as the reason.

Maryland, like Delaware, actually owns the slot machines, which the state prefers to call video lottery terminals.

The casino faces two big problems in Maryland. The biggest is the recent opening of 3,200-machine MarylandLive! That casino is near the Baltimore Washington International Airport, a prime market for Perryville. If that was not bad enough, the Maryland toll across the Susquehanna River is $6.
