Northern Trust, a  provider of financial services for institutions, affluent individuals and families, has named Laura G. Mandel President of Northern Trust Company of Delaware, effective immediately. Mandel will relocate from Chicago to Wilmington and succeeds Daniel F. Lindley, who was appointed managing director of the company’s Global Family & Private Investment Offices group in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific Region.

Mandel, who has 25 years of experience in trust and investment management for high-net-worth individuals and families, will focus on leading the regional bank’s overall strategy and will also help clients make use of the unique wealth transfer advantages offered through Delaware law, according to the company.

Mandel most recently served as a Senior Fiduciary Relationship Manager at Northern Trust and has been with the bank for more than 12 years. Mandel has handled some of Northern Trust’s largest and most complex trust portfolios, including irrevocable gift trusts, generation-skipping trusts, charitable trusts, revocable trusts and investment management accounts. She also served as a Senior Attorney in the legal department from 2000 to 2007.

Prior to joining Northern Trust, Mandel served as Trust Counsel and as senior trust administrator at Harris Trust and Savings Bank, now BMO Harris Bank.
