Peterson Companies and MGM Resorts International have entered into an agreement for MGM Resorts to develop a destination resort casino at National Harbor.
Developed by Peterson Companies, National Harbor comprises 350 acres of real estate along the Potomac River in Prince Georges County, Md. National Harbor currently includes restaurants, retail, office and residences, and a number of hotels including the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. The complex is near Washington, D.C.
Construction comes with a number of conditions including allowing table games in Maryland. The proposal comes after opening of the MarylandLive casino near Baltimore, which is expected to put further pressure on Delaware casinos.
