Delaware will not lose another brewery after all.

The DelmarvaNow website reports Third Wave Brewing Co. will open at the former site of Evolution brewery in the town straddling the border between Maryland and Delaware. The opening of the business, owned by two area women, is subject to  the issuance  of federal permits.

Evolution Craft Brewing moved to larger space in nearby Salisbury, Md. Evolution began brewing beer in the Delmar location, a former grocery store, in 2009.

Sussex County has been a brewing hotspot in recent years, with Dogfish Head in Milton growing into one of the nation’s larger craft breweries. Another Sussex brewery, 16 Mile, operates in Georgetown.

In Kent Couty, Fordham operates a brewery in the Dover area, with Twin Lakes brewing rounding out the list on on the northern edge of the state in northern New Castle.
