The former New Castle County executive whose second term ended up under a cloud wants his old job back.
Gordon, a former county Police Chief, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor campaign finance violations in a wide-ranging investigation that also involved his chief of staff Sherry Freebery, also a former county Police Chief.
Gordon earlier lost an election bid by a wide margin to Chris Coons, who went on to become a U.S. senator. The post of County Executive is now held by Paul Clark, who will now face two opponents in the Democratic primary.
