Wind power – Weather data seen as key

    A study from University of Delaware and Stanford University scientists indicates that four large East Coast wind farms placed on the basis of long-term weather conditions could offset the effects of periods when winds die down.

    The scientists still believe that wind power from these massive sites could provide one-third of the nation’s electrical demand. With the selective placement, batteries to store power would not be needed.
