Artesian Water Company, the main subsidiary of Artesian Resources Corporation, announced that it is converting its quarterly customer billing to a monthly billing cycle starting in April. 2012.
Water companies traditionally bill less often than once a month. However, water rates have risen to the point that bills can easily top $100 a quarter at Artesian, which has a large residential customer base, mainly in northern New Castle County.
“We are converting to monthly billing in response to our customers’ request. Monthly billing will enable them to better manage their budget and monitor their water consumption. It will help customers find leaks sooner, which will save them money and conserve water,” said Dian Taylor, chair, president and CEO of Artesian Resources. “It’s also a matter of convenience since most customers pay their other bills on a monthly basis and asked us to change to the same billing cycle.”
Customers will receive their first monthly bill in April. In addition, Artesian recently instituted e-Billing, a free electronic billing service. Enrolled customers have secure access to their water bills as well as free online payment options.
Artesian Resources Corporation operates as the holding company of eight wholly-owned subsidiaries offering water, wastewater and engineering services on the Delmarva Peninsula.
