When multiple barriers to doing business arise – as they often do – small businesses need ideas to turn what could be a disaster into an opportunity.

To give those businesses tools to become more resilient, Delaware’s Small Business Development Center and Downtown Visions are hosting a free small business workshop. on Monday, August 29 at the Wilmington Public Library.

“There’s no need to be a social media expert, and no need for a big budget,” said Will Minster, Director of Business Development and Program Manager for Main Street Wilmington who will address marketing ideas with little to no budget. “You may be shocked how just covering the basics can bring big rewards. Follow the simple and very easy steps we will outline for you before you spend a penny on paid advertising. If the economy goes bad, a disaster occurs, whatever, your customers will still be able to follow you.”

Topics, including business resiliency and continuity; “active shooter” training; accounting for small businesses; and new marketing with a zero budget, are:

  • Business Resiliency and Continuity
  • No Money for Marketing? No Problem!
  • Active Shooter Training
  • Accounting and QuickBooks
