Comcast announced that Xfinity Internet customers can now bring their own device (BYOD) to Xfinity Mobile by visiting Xfinity Store locations.

Xfinity has stores in north Wilmington and Dover.

Select, unlocked iPhone models can be activated on the Xfinity Mobile network, and devices that don’t qualify may be eligible to be traded in for a gift card equal to the value of the phone, which can be used to bring down the cost of upgrading to a new device.

“With the introduction of BYOD, we now have a convenient way for iPhone users to switch to Xfinity Mobile and get access to the best 4G LTE network plus 18 million WiFi hotspots without having to purchase a new phone,” said Rui Costa, vice president of product management and customer experience for Xfinity Mobile. “A core tenet of Xfinity Mobile is that it’s simple and easy, and our in-store BYOD experience will be no different,” added Costa. “We are committed to simplifying the mobile experience from the moment a customer signs up, through activation and account management.”

Customers  can visit www.xfinity.com/mobile/byod for additional details and to determine if their device is eligible to bring to Xfinity Mobile. Comcast expects to be able to activate devices from additional manufacturers on the Xfinity Mobile network in stores later in 2018.
