Marlette Funding, LLC names CFO

Marlette Funding, LLC, the parent company of Best Egg, announced the appointment of Mark Elbaum as the company’s new chief financial officer (CFO). As CFO, Elbaum will join the executive management team and lead the finance, accounting and capital markets activities from the company’s headquarters in Wilmington, DE.

Most recently, he was the CFO of Merrill Lynch, Bank of America’s Wealth Management business. Prior roles included 18 years in the mortgage industry as CFO of Bank of America’s mortgage lending division, appointed to the position after the company’s acquisition of Countrywide Financial. At Countrywide he held the position of CFO of the Residential Lending Division. After starting his career at Price Waterhouse, Mark worked at Aames Financial Corp, a midsize consumer finance company, where he helped upgrade the finance capabilities to post IPO requirements. Mark has a Masters in Accountancy from University of Southern California and is a CPA and experienced in FP&A as well as capital markets.

Adesis names VP

Adesis, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Universal Display Corporation  announced that Joanne Johnson, Ph.D. has been appointed Vice President of Business Development.

Prior to joining Adesis,   Johnson was Vice President of Business Development at Asymchem, Inc. During her 9-year tenure, she gained broad and significant experience in building out global sales and support teams, and managed significant revenue growth. Johnson also brings technical and business-related experience from AMRI, Biofocus-DPI, the Cancer Research Campaign (CRC) and Acambis. Johnson received her Ph.D. from the University of Wales (UK) and her Bachelor’s degree from Durham University (UK). She completed postdoctoral research at both Southampton and Cambridge

Morris Nichols  announce partners

Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP, Wilmington,  announced the following will become partners, effective January 1, 2018:

Katherine H. Betterly joined Morris Nichols in 2001 and is a member of the firm’s Commercial Law Counseling Group.  She is a 2001 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School where she served as associate editor of the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law.

Brian P. Egan joined Morris Nichols in 2015 as special counsel in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group.  He graduated cum laude in 2004 from the American University Washington College of Law.  Prior to graduating law school, he worked as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, focusing on applications in the chemical arts.

Michael J. Flynn joined Morris Nichols in 2009 and is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group.  He graduated cum laude, Order of the Barristers in 2009 from Tulane University Law School where he served as appellate chairman of the moot court board.  Prior to law school, he worked as a public policy consultant, hosted a public affairs radio program, and owned and managed several entrepreneurial businesses, all of which cemented his technical background.

Daniel D. Matthews joined Morris Nichols in 2009 and is a member of the firm’s Delaware Corporate Law Counseling Group.  He earned his J.D., Order of the Coif, in 2009 from the College of William and Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law where he served as senior articles editor of The William and Mary Bill of Rights Journal.

Delaware State Chamber of Commerce announces  Boards

Immediately preceding the 181st Annual Dinner, the Board of Directors welcomed new members to the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Board of Governors.

The State Chamber is pleased to announce that Bonnie Metz, Verizon; Mac Nagaswami, Carvertise; and Janice E. Nevin, M.D., MPH, were voted onto the Board of Directors. DSCC’s Board of Directors will see a change in leadership with outgoing Chairman, Chip Rossi of Bank of America, passing the gavel to Gary Stockbridge of Delmarva Power. Katie Wilkinson, Fulton Bank, will step into the role of vice-chair.

 Department of Health and Social Services  names directors

 Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) Secretary Dr. Kara Walker announced two appointments of directors to lead the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health and the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services.

Elizabeth Romero, who formerly served as Senior Director for Health Improvement with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) in Arlington, Va., was appointed to lead the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH).

She has a bachelor’s of science degree from Boston University and a master’s of science degree from the University of Oregon.

Damaris Piliro, who most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of SERV Behavioral Health, which has overall responsibility for intellectual and developmental disabilities division services for all counties in New Jersey,  is  the new Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services (DDDS).

Piliro has a master’s of business administration in health care management from the University of Phoenix’s Philadelphia Campus and a bachelor of arts from Rutgers University in psychology. 

Colliers International appoints Pulte

Colliers International | Philadelphia announced that Tim Pulte has joined the senior management team in the role of Senior Executive Vice President.

Tim brings more than 31 years of industry experience to Colliers, having served in a variety of roles. These include Chief Operating Officer for the Delaware River Port Authority where he was responsible for the corporate operations, facility management, real estate, security, fleet operations, food service, and capital improvements across all assets owned by the Authority and managed an annual operating budget of $40 million and assisted in development and implementation of the $500 million-dollar multi-year capital budget.

Other experience includes: President and Partner, GVA Smith Mack; Vice President, Land Acquisition, Pulte Homes; Senior Vice President, GMH Capital Partners; and Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Grubb & Ellis.
