Delaware Association of Realtors elects officers

Bayard Williams has been installed as president of the 3,900-member Delaware Association of Realtors (DAR) for 2018. The event took place at White Clay Creek Country Club in Wilmington and included the installation of the organization’s 2018 officers and directors. Their terms will officially begin January 1.

As president, Williams will preside at all meetings of the DAR Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and he will serve as an ex-officio member of all state association committees and workgroups. Williams will also act as the official spokesperson for the association on issues related to the real estate industry and the local housing market in Delaware. He also will represent DAR and its members on the National Association of Realtors (NAR) Board of Directors and at local, state and national functions.

The full slate of 2018 DAR officers installed at the event follows President-Elect Brad Riedle, Sussex County; Vice President R.T. Christopher. New Castle County; Treasurer Mia Burch, New Castle County; and National Association of Realtors Director Robert Harman, Sr., Sussex County.

 Wohlsen Construction Company adds three

Wohlsen Construction Company has added three professionals to the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) team. 

James J. McConlogue joins Wohlsen as an MEP preconstruction manager. In this role, McConlogue will lead preconstruction and estimating services, coordinating and evaluating the pricing and design solutions for projects’ MEP portions. McConlogue studied at the West Chester University and continued his education with the NECA School of Estimating. He brings 30 years of construction and MEP expertise to Wohlsen.

Thomas Lauletta, a Mechanical Estimator, will estimate projects’ MEP packages. Lauletta has nearly four decades of industry experience working as a mechanical estimator and project manager and has successfully bid and built dozens of projects in the Philadelphia metro. He is a graduate of Widener University where he studied engineering and behavioral sciences. He continued his education by studying Plumbing Design with the American Society of Sanitary Engineers and Restoration and Cost Estimating at Spring Garden College.

Joseph Murphy has joined the Wohlsen team as a MEP field coordinator. He has 27 years of experience in not just MEP services, but also general construction. He has led refinery revamps, nuclear outages, and high-rise HVAC projects, in addition to several others. Murphy has studied Project and Construction Management at the University of Massachusetts and the University of Delaware. He has also trained in HVAC at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology. 

Landmark Science & Engineering announces promotion

The board of directors of Landmark Science & Engineering announced that Dakota LaidmanMurray, P.E., a registered professional engineer in Delaware, has been promoted to the position of Associate and Martha W. Durand, R.L.A, a registered landscape architect in Maryland and Delaware has recently joined the firm, expanding the firm’s in‐house services.

Laidman‐Murray is a registered professional engineer in Delaware who has worked for Landmark since graduating from the University of Delaware in 2012. She earned a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering, with a concentration in Water Resources and Water Quality and a minor in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware, and was awarded the Hagerty Environmental Undergraduate Award for demonstrating outstanding professional and research potential in Environmental Engineering.

Durand is a registered landscape architect in Maryland and Delaware, with over 10 years of landscape design, site planning and design experience with residential, commercial, and industrial projects. She earned a Bachelor’s of Landscape Architecture at New York State College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse. In addition to landscape architecture and planting design, her skills will be utilized in developing conceptual plans, site design, road layout, site grading, stormwater management design and earthwork analysis, review and interpretation of local zoning codes, review of projects for compliance with handicapped access codes, and inspection of projects during construction for compliance with plans and specification.

Deadwyler returns to DuPont

Rick M. Deadwyler, Jr., returns to DuPont in its Agriculture business to lead state government and industry affairs efforts across the U.S Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern region.  

Deadwyler will be responsible for developing and delivering state government affairs and industry relations activities for the DuPont Agriculture business – including public policy efforts in the region. He will be based in Wilmington, Delaware.

A Delaware native, Deadwyler’s background includes nearly two decades in industry and government relations in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast – and builds upon more than a decade of previous community investment and philanthropy experience. Deadwyler most recently served as vice president of community engagement for the Delaware Community Foundation (DCF). Prior to joining DCF, he served as director of government relations for the University of Delaware. Deadwyler’s previous tenure at DuPont included a number of roles spanning corporate philanthropy, crisis management and government affairs. Prior to DuPont, he served as community relations director for the Delaware River and Bay Authority, in addition to work with a number of community and education programs for the state of Delaware.

Deadwyler received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree in elementary education from Wilmington University.

 Testa joins Gunnip & Company  

 Gunnip & Company LLP announced that Anthony J. Testa, Jr. has joined the Firm. Testa is a multi-disciplinary professional, licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and an attorney. He will serve as a key member of the practice team providing tax, advisory and entrepreneurial services. His professional experience spans over 30 years and includes “Big 4” public accounting, practicing law, serving in leadership roles for closely-held businesses, working with high net worth individuals and providing on-site advisory and C-level services to private equity firms. Testa is admitted to practice law in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and before the United States Tax Court.  He majored in accounting and received his Bachelor’s degree and his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He received his law degree from Widener University School of Law.

Delaware River and Bay Authority welcomes commissioner

The Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) welcomed a new Commission member Sheila McCann. Commissioner McCann’s term extends to July 1, 2018.  On December 18, the New Jersey State Senate confirmed her nomination. 

  During her professional career, McCann has knowledge and experience in multiple vocations, including teacher, liquor store owner/manager, real estate agent, and legal secretary. For the past 20+ years, she has served as the business and system administrator for Chance & McCann, LLC, a law firm in Bridgeton, NJ. 

A graduate of Cumberland County College,  McCann earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Monmouth University.

Nanticoke Physician Network adds to staff

The Nanticoke Physician Network welcomed Rene Toney, APRN to its active medical staff. She is certified in Adult Health and is accepting new patients age 18 and up.

Toney received both her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from The Sage College in Troy, New York. She has over 30 years of professional nursing experience in military, private and public sectors. Her professional affiliations include the Nurse Practitioner Association, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Berkshire Hathaway adds Dolla

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors Bear Office, welcomed Stacy Dolla as a sales associate. Dolla was formerly with Keller Williams and has experience in design. She serves New Castle County.
