Harvey, Hanna & Associates, Inc. and The Delaware KIDS Fund will kick off the first race of the Delaware KIDS Fund 5K Series featuring races in Newport and Dewey Beach.

The 8th Annual event for Newport will take place  Saturday, August 5th while the 2nd Annual Que Pasa 5K to benefit KIDS will take place on Saturday, August 12th in Dewey Beach.

The Delaware KIDS Fund (Kids In Distressed Situations), established by Thomas J. Hanna of Harvey, Hanna & Associates, Inc. is a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing goods and services to children at risk and in distressed situations.

The events will help tackle the on-going hunger issue in Delaware impacting children under the age of 18. One  in five  Delaware children suffer from hunger.

Proceeds from the event will be donated directly to various youth emergency food relief programs throughout Delaware. In Newport alone, there are 1,100 elementary children and 71 percent of those children live at or below the poverty line (twice the national average).
