FanDuel announced it would be offering its full slate of fantasy offerings in Delaware, including the chance to win one million dollars in the NFL FanDuel Sunday Million, effective on Friday.

The announcement follows news that Delaware Governor John Carney signed a fantasy sports bill into law, establishing a number of consumer protections and regulating daily fantasy sports in the state. The state earlier put the kibosh on fantasy sports sites, citing state laws.

Delaware  became the  14th state to enact legislation authorizing fantasy sports, and the fifth state to pass fantasy sports legislation in the first half of 2017 alone. In return, Delaware will charge a tax as it deals with a structural budget deficit.

FanDuel arch-rival DraftKings is also back with its online offerings.

Delaware fans collectively sent thousands of letters to state representatives showing their support for fantasy sports and protecting their right to play, according to a release from FanDuel.

“We have thousands of fantasy players in Delaware who love our product and now know that their right to play daily fantasy sports is protected thanks to important legislation sponsored by state Representative Charles Potter (D-Wilmington),” said Nigel Eccles, CEO of FanDuel. “With NFL season right around the corner, Delaware sports fans will see big changes to our product since last year — including new season-long leagues, improved lineup editing tools, new contest types, and more.”

On July 26th, 2017, the Delaware Interactive Fantasy Contest Act was signed into law by Governor John Carney.  The act permits online wagering by participants located in Delaware on interactive daily fantasy sports contests offered by those internet operators who have registered in Delaware.

The  Delaware Division of Gaming Enforcement  noted that participants must be 18 years old.
