Wilmington Trust files suit against former VP who set up his own firm

Wilmington Trust has filed suit against a former vice president who started  a competing firm. 

The Chancery Daily reported that the action was filed against  John P. Garniewski, Jr., who served as Vice President of Wealth Advisory Services – Wilmington Family Office Group.

Family Office refers to a range of accounting and other financial services Wilmington  Trust offers to wealthy families.

The civil action in Chancery Court claims Garniwski is using proprietary and confidential information from the unit of M&T Bank.  The business set up shop in Greenville.

According to the filing, Garniwski set up a competing operation while still employed at Wilmington Trust and solicited Wilmington Trust customers.

Wilmington Trust is seeking expedited action on the action by Chancery Court, The Chancery Daily reported.
