The Walmart store in Middletown is now offering drive-up grocery buying service. The service is available free of charge with a minimum purchase at some stores of the world’s largest retailer.
According to a release, customers can shop online or through a mobile browser at Walmart.com/grocery to build their online basket and place an order, selecting the most convenient location and time for pick up.
After placing their order, customers will receive an email confirmation and call to let them know the specific location at the store the order can be picked up.
Once a customer arrives at the pickup location, a call is made to a designated number to alert an associate in the store.
The personal shopper will have their order ready and keep it chilled or frozen right up until we bring it is loaded in the vehicle.
Customers can choose from more than 30,000 fresh grocery and consumable items. Pickup service is also available for millions of additional items sold on Walmart.com.
Orders placed by 1 a.m. will be available for pickup from 8 a.m. and orders placed by 10 a.m. will be available from 4 p.m.
Customers can also schedule grocery pickups up to three weeks in advance.
The minimum purchase in most markets is $30. There is no added price for groceries that are picked up under the program.
