The Siegel Jewish Community Center in north Wilmington received another emailed bomb threat on Sunday.

The center followed safety and security protocols and contacted local law enforcement that conducted a thorough search of the building. This was the second email bomb threat received in the past week and the fifth since January.

The Security and Leadership Teams worked together with our local law enforcement to respond to this and every incident.  A  New Castle County police officer and vehicle will be parked in the front of the Siegel JCC and Early Childhood Center on Monday morning.

In response to recent threats across the country, the JCC has been working closely with local law enforcement agencies to monitor the situation and review protocols.

“We know that the continuation of these threats across the country to JCCs and other Jewish institutions is very disheartening. Yet, these incidents also demonstrate both the relevance and importance of the community in our JCCs. At times like these, the importance of coming together as a community is critical,” a release stated.
