Fire causes $150,000 damage at Concord Mall Macy’s store

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a fire that caused $150,000 damage at the Macy’s store in Concord Mall in north Wilmington.

 The blaze, reported shortly after 3:00 pm, occurred at the Macy’s Department Store located in the Concord Mall on  Concord Pike.  The Talleyville Fire Company responded to the fire along with several neighboring fire companies.

 State fire investigators are on the scene investigating the origin and cause of this fire.  The fire was suppressed by the building’s sprinkler system.  The majority of the fire damage occurred to a clothing storage area off of the main sales floor.  Smoke filtered throughout the store.

Fire damage was estimated at $150,000.  There were no reported injuries.
