Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital has opened a Wound Care Center.
Bayhealth’s teams work with patients to heal diabetic, neuropathic, pressure and ischemic ulcers. Treatment is also available for venous insufficiency, traumatic wounds, surgical wounds, and skin irritations. Treatment using hyperbaric oxygen therapy is available at the Bayhealth Kent General location only.
Since the Wound Care Center at Kent General opened in August 2008, the unit has seen 4,120 new patients, 39,951 wound care encounters, and 6,590 hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments.
Bayhealth Clinical Nurse Coordinator Julie Willey, RN, said she is thrilled with the opening of the site. “As a life-long resident of Sussex County, I am super excited that Bayhealth is opening a Wound Care Center in Milford,” she said. “I believe the residents will be impressed with the care we can provide based solely on the clinical outcomes we have retained at Kent General.”
Both centers will be run by Medical Director John F. Glenn, MD.
