Hand & Stone franchisee Diana Simons will open her second location later this month in Middletown.
Simons operates a location at the Governor’s Square Shopping Center off Routes 40 and 7 in Bear.
Hand & Stone is a massage and facial spa, with 300 locations in 28 states and Canada.
The newest location is in the Westtown area near the Kohl’s store.
Simons said the Governor’s Square store opened in late 2014 and is “almost too busy.”
Hand & Stone stores have a staff of 25 to 30, operating with extended hours, with two and sometimes three shifts, Simons noted.
Simons became a fan of Hand & Stone while living in New Jersey. While vacationing in the state, she was shocked to find Hand & Stone had no locations and decided to pursue a franchise.
With the Middletown opening, the company will have four franchises in Delaware.
Manager the newest location is Middletown native Danette Hurt.
Owning a third franchise is a possibility, although she wants to make certain the two locations are functioning well, she says.
At 3,000 square feet, the new store is larger than the 2,400 square foot space in Bear.
