Bayhealth has launched a new patient portal known as MyChart.
MyChart gives patients secure access to portions of their electronic health record, also known as an EHR. With MyChart patients may view some diagnostic test results, upcoming diagnostic testing and physician appointments, medications, immunizations, and more. With MyChart, patients can:
View personal electronic health record information such as:
· Medications, immunizations, allergies, and medical history
· Most diagnostic test results
· Health education and information materials
· Discharge instructions provided by your physician after an admission or treatment
Using the new patient portal, access makes it easier for patients to manage their health by:
· Providing secure access to your health information
· Connecting with physicians
· Providing the ability to schedule appointments with some Bayhealth Medical Group physicians
· Offering the option of paying bills online via credit card
· Reminders of upcoming appointments
Director of Patient Advocacy, Service Excellence and Professional Recruitment Marianne Foard, said the goal of MyChart is to help make patients better informed and involved in their overall health. “MyChart is just one example of how Bayhealth is working to provide the very best care to our community,” Foard said.
The change from the MyBayhealth patient portal to MyChart came in July after Bayhealth implemented a new electronic health record called Epic. With the new EHR, a single patient health record is accessible throughout the entire Bayhealth system. This will result in improved patient care through enhanced and standardized processes, enhanced chronic disease management, and elimination of duplicate and unnecessary testing, a release stated.
