Carl M. Freeman Companies announced the acquisition of 140 acres along Robinsonville Road in Lewes.
Terms were not immediately announced.
The tract is slated to be part of the Freeman Companies newest development, Tidewater Landing and comes from years of planning and coordination with state, county, and local community members, a release stated.
The project has been, but the developer had not been publicly identified until now.
Construction is slated for the first quarter 2017. The master-planned community will feature 195 single-family homes, a pool and clubhouse.
Tidewater Landing will join a portfolio of family-friendly communities in Coastal Sussex County that include Sea Colony, The Preserve, The Cove, Bear Trap Dunes and Bayside.
