Technology Forum launches ‘where are we going’ assessment at monthly event

[Not a valid template]Technology Forum of Delaware is taking an in-depth look at the state of technology in Delaware.

It was the second “Technology Where Do We  Go From Here”  held by the forum. 

The kick-off of the assessment was held in conjunction with Delaware Innovation Week, an event that highlights technology in the state. 

The process was kicked off at the forum’s monthly meeting-networking event at World Cafe Live at the Queen Theatre with  a rapid-fire  59-question assessment.  Responses came via from a show of hands, group discussions and text true or false text messages.Preliminary results indicated that the technology community has made progress over the past year, but still faces a variety of challenges. 

Preliminary results indicated that the tech community has made progress over the past year, but still faces a variety of shortcomings  that include a lack of amenities to attract and retain staff, sluggish conditions in some industries, a lack of access to capital and a negative perception of the area – often from residents.

George Rotsch, Tech Forum board member, said the next step would be sending out the assessment members of the technology community. A final report will be compiled next year.
