Goldey-Beacom College to host discussion on start-up businesses

GoldeyOn November 9,  at 6 p.m., Goldey-Beacom College will present “The Story of the Start” in the Joseph West Jones Center. The presentation is the second panel discussion in a series celebrating the College’s “Year of the Entrepreneur.”

The panel will feature entrepreneurs whose start-ups initially faced tremendous obstacles but who ultimately achieved success.

A panel of up-and-coming local entrepreneurs will share the difficulties they faced and address questions about the complexities of starting your venture. The panel includes:

  • Jessie Garcia, the founder of Tozuda and inventor of the Cabezon, the first head injury awareness sensor developed specifically for the labor and construction industry.
  • Markevis Gideon, the creator of Nerdit NOW, a 2016 University of Delaware Hen Hatch Alumni award-winning information technology company that serves individuals and small businesses to have their very own “NERD T. Guy”.
  • Rebecca Simeone, the founder of Rebecca Simeone Designs, LLC, which specializes in family photography, graphic design and client satisfaction.

Admission is free and open to the business and local community. Registration is not required to attend. A networking reception with refreshments will follow the event.
