The New Castle County Chamber of Commerce conducted the ceremony for Ted’s, which will formally open on Monday at the Christiana Fashion Center, adjacent to the mall.

It’s  the first Ted’s in Delaware and  46th location overall.

The restaurant will offer menu items including  cuts of bison and  beef and regionally-sourced chicken. Prior to the ribbon cutting, the restaurant held a ceremonial cutting of a  bison steak.

Ted’s will employ 75.

The restaurant’s name reflects the efforts of  cable TV and sports team entrepreneur  Ted Turner to build a market for bison, which is  leaner than beef.  Turner has vast land  holdings in Montana.

Co-founder of the  company is steakhouse veteran, George McKerrow. President is Kristi Martin, president. Both were on hand for the event.

Ted’s will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
