Celebrity chef Anne Burrell will headline the Meals on Wheels Delaware Celebrity Chefs’ Brunch on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at DuPont Country Club.
Since 1997 this event has featured more than 25 recognized chefs from across the United States and beyond, who come together to support Meals on Wheels Delaware’s mission to end senior hunger. Guests experience the chance sample brunch tastings, signature cocktails, live entertainment.
Burrell, a Food Network personality, will host the event, now in its 20th year.
After studying culinary arts in both the United States and Italy, Burrell went on to work at some of the top restaurants in New York. She currently hosts Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America and Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition, where she mentors a team of celebrities who are in need of cooking tips.
“We are thrilled and honored to have Anne as our host for this year’s Celebrity Chefs’ Brunch,” said Regina Dodds, director of Events. “This event is vital for Meals on Wheels Delaware to raise the funds necessary to support the different Meals On Wheels programs throughout the state, making sure that every senior in need in our community is getting home-delivered meals. Guests come to this event because they care and want to help, but these talented chefs really seal the deal.”
Proceeds from the Celebrity Chefs’ Brunch make a contribution to the non-profit’s fundraising efforts.
“It is one example of the community coming together to recognize the importance of caring for our senior neighbors. As we approach the Holiday Season we are aware of caring support from the community in many ways—from the volunteers who deliver meals on Thanksgiving and over Christmas, those who volunteer their time to plan our events, and through donations to the Holiday Appeal.” said Anne Love, executive director. “Purchasing a ticket to one of our events, or making a donation, can truly light up a life.”
Tickets to the 20th Annual Celebrity Chefs Brunch are $125 for general admission and $75 for young professionals (ages 40 and under). Tickets can be purchased on www.mealsonwheelsde.org. Meals on Wheels currently has sponsorship packages available for businesses, individuals and media organizations.
