ATK cargo rocket launch from Wallops should be visible in Delaware

14708288_1397804980249599_2077090003328352102_nOrbital ATK has produced a visibility map for the company’s next commercial resupply mission to the International Space Station, NASA reported.

The flight, which has been delayed, is now scheduled for no earlier than Sunday, Oct. 16, at 8:03 p.m.

The forecast for Sunday night from Weather.com calls for some clouds  in northern Delaware and clear skies on Wallops Island.

The ability to see the launch may be possible throughout Delaware and the  Mid-Atlantic, depending on location, elevation and local weather conditions.

mission_profile_thumbOrbital ATK’s Cygnus spacecraft will launch aboard the company’s Antares rocket from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport launch pad at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Orbital ATK has a  site in Elkton, MD that produces retro rocket motors for the Cygnus.
