Lisa Blunt Rochester seems to be on her way to Congress as the state Labor Secretary took a commanding lead in a crowded field in Delaware’s September primary.

Meanwhile, Wilmington Mayor Dennis Williams appeared to be on his way to defeat.

Riverfront director  Michael Purzycki took a late lead over Kein Kelley and Eugene Young  in the three-way  race for Wilmington mayor.

With  89 percent of all  precincts reporting, Lisa Blunt Rochester blew out the rest of the field in the race for Congress. The state Secretary of  Labor got a boost with an endorsement from Emily’s List an organization that works to elect female candidates.

In a bitterly contested race for County Executive challenger Matt Meyer held a narrow, but growing  lead over incumbent Tom Gordon and in a potentially stunning development,  Karen Hartley-Nagle held a substantial lead over long-time council member and Gordon ally, Penrose Hollins.
