The annual fundraiser helps customers earn funds for up to two local schools with every shopping trip. Since 1989, Giant has helped local schools by donating more than $94 million through the program. Last year’s program generated a $2 million donation for 1,466 public and private schools in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Delaware, with 20 schools receiving more than  $10,000 each in awards.

Giant customers who wish to participate in the program can sign up now and designate up to two schools in their local community by visiting their local Giant Food store or at www.giantfood.com.  A+ School Rewards are accrued with each purchase made using their Giant card. Customers who designated schools last year do not need to re-designate their school(s) but are encouraged to confirm their school IDs by going to www.giantfood.com/aplus.

“Giant Food continues to take great pride in being a Better Neighbor, and A+ School Rewards is a program that helps  hundreds of thousands of children in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware,” said Gordon Reid, President, Giant of Landover, Md. “We’re confident that our customers can make this year’s program the best one yet.”

In the past, schools have used their A+ School Rewards grant funds for technology upgrades, scholarship programs, field trips, playgrounds, and other educational needs.
