Siegfried adds staff

Siegfried, Wilmington, welcomed Alex Ollinger, Megan Pettingill and Alyssa Spence to its operations team.

Siegfried provides accounting and consulting services nationwide.

Ollinger
 joins the Siegfried Operations team as a Data Analyst in the Business Systems department. Previously, he was at Risk Placement Services, Inc., where he administered Dynamics CRM and built processes and procedures to ensure effective data collection and deployment. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management from Pennsylvania State University and put it to good use, becoming Assistant General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott in Malvern, PA.

Pettingill
joins the Siegfried Operations team as a Content Marketing Associate. Previously, she worked at Project Management Institute, where she produced thought leadership materials. Before that, she spent five years at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware, first in the Corporate Communications department and then in the Marketing department. Her bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Professional Writing comes from the University of Delaware.

Spence joins the Siegfried Operations team as a Video Communications Associate in the Marketing department. Prior to this, she worked as an Assistant to the Director of Multimedia for Athletics at the University of Delaware. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Delaware.

 DAP names interim executive director

The Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc. (DAPI), an alternative education program for pregnant and parenting teens, has named Doris Griffin, Ed.D. as its Interim Executive Director. She succeeds former Executive Director Lucy O’Donnell, who left DAPI in June.

Griffin has worked with the organization in several capacities for the past fifteen years, most recently as Director of Education. An Adjunct Program Coordinator with the Administration of Human Services Graduate Program at Wilmington University, she served as Executive Director of both Expanded Branches Community Development Corporation and Delaware Futures. Additionally, she worked as an educational consultant with the Learning Link of Delaware and Christina School District.

DAPI is the only statewide, comprehensive school-based program serving pregnant and parenting teens and their families. DAPI provides students with academic instruction, social services, health services and childcare.

St.  Francis names wound care medical director

Saint Francis Healthcare has appointed Matthew W. Lawrence as Medical Director of the Advanced Wound Care Center. Lawrence will lead a team of five podiatrists and one family medicine physician in their outpatient program.

Lawrence, board-certified in both General and Vascular Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and a member of the American Osteopathic Association. He previously served at Saint Francis Healthcare as the Medical Director of the Wound Care Center and as the Chairman of the Division of Vascular Surgery. He has also held positions at Jennersville Regional Hospital in West Grove, Pennsylvania and Union Hospital in Elkton, Maryland.

Saint Francis Healthcare’s Advanced Wound Center focuses on chronic and non-healing wounds using advanced treatment modalities and a case management model. The center is equipped with two hyperbaric oxygen chambers, which provide hyperbaric therapy services.

Dawsons named Five Star Wealth Managers

Frederick J. Dawson, ChFC, CLU, Executive Vice President and Brian D. Dawson, ChFC, CIMC, Vice President of Operations at Bassett, Dawson & Foy, Inc. were recently named  Five Star Wealth Managers.

This is a select group of wealth managers representing less than 18 percent of the wealth managers in the Philadelphia area.

His selection was the result of a rigorous research process that included a regulatory and consumer complaint review, and an evaluation of objective criteria associated with wealth managers who provide quality services to their clients.

Philadelphia area award candidates were identified using internal and external research data, including a survey to registered financial service professionals and all identified financial service companies in the area that are registered with FINRA or the SEC.

Frederick Dawson, who joined Raymond James in 1983, has more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry.  He offers a comprehensive range of wealth management services for individuals and businesses.

Brian Dawson, who joined Raymond James in 2000, has more than 26 years of experience in the financial services industry. He offers a comprehensive range of wealth management services for individuals and businesses.

This award is bestowed by an independent third party organization not affiliated with Raymond James.

UD names laboratory chair

The University of Delaware Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) has named Esther Biswas-Fiss as its new chair.

Biswas-Fiss comes to UD from Thomas Jefferson University, where she directed the biotechnology program and led an active translational research program on visual disease.

At UD, she will expand UD’s strong laboratory science continuum with new molecular-based degree programs.

She said she looks forward to expanding degree offerings, bolstering the MLS research programs, strengthening connections with clinical partners for student clerkships, and increasing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education outreach to underrepresented groups.

As a researcher, Biswas-Fiss investigates the molecular drivers of Stargardt macular dystrophy and macular degeneration, major causes of blindness across all ages.

Active Adults Realty welcomes agents

Active Adults Realty welcomed three new agents to the Team at Active Adults Realty in Lewes.

Audrey Hammond is a native Delawarean, who came to Active Adults Realty having worked for years in the hospitality industry and short-term commercial leasing for Simon Malls. She earned her  Realtor license in the spring of 2016 and chose to join the AAR Team.

John Beck has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution from Clarkson University and a Master Degree in Business from the University of Buffalo. He moved to Southern California to become Watson McDaniel’s West Coast Regional Manager. In 2008, he retired and started his business selling engineered pipeline products.

Michael J. Malone has an extensive background in the construction industry and golf course management. He developed a 90-acre parcel of land and the infrastructure for a golf course community in Worcester, PA and sold the adjacent lots for private residences. He then continued to manage the club for 20 years. Having had previous experience in PA real estate, he earned his Delaware  Realtor license in 2016 and joined  the AAR Team in January 2016.

Berkshire Hathaway adds Gilson
