Freeman Stage Check presentation
SoDel Cares, the philanthropic arm of SoDel Concepts, a hospitality group with nine area restaurants, recently donated $10,000 to The Freeman Stage at Bayside. Lindsey Barry, the controller for SoDel Concepts, presented the check to Patti Grimes, executive director of The Freeman Stage.

SoDel Cares, the philanthropic arm of SoDel Concepts, recently donated $10,000 to The Freeman Stage at Bayside, an open-air performing arts venue near Fenwick Island, Delaware. Part of the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation, The Freeman Stage seeks to bring memorable performances and arts education to more than 50,000 visitors a year.

“Thanks to The Freeman Stage, there has been an explosion of performing arts offerings in coastal Delaware,” said Scott Kammerer, President of SoDel Concepts, which owns nine coastal restaurants, Plate Catering and Big Thunder Roadside Kitchen, a food truck. “The Freeman Stage impressive schedule includes both local performers and internationally known acts. We’re particularly appreciative of the good work that the organization does for area schools. For many of the children who attend the free shows, it’s their first exposure to the arts, including classical music, opera and dance.”

The Freeman Stage is part of the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation, which was founded in 2007 to honor Josh Freeman, the former chairman of the Carl M. Freeman Foundation, who died in December 2006. Typically, performances are offered Memorial Day through Labor Day.
