The Technology Forum of Delaware hosted Tech+Jazz 2016, its second annual “Technologies to Watch Showcase.”
This year’s event featured 20 innovations from corporate R&D groups as well as promising technologies from the University of Delaware, and incubators and collaborative workspaces in the region.
The featured technologies are in material science, health science, digital communications, clean technology, learning tech and smarter services.
Demonstrations featured new materials that stiffen only when impacted for a new class of protective armor, anti-bullying software that identifies potential deviant behavior, as well as mobile e-learning software that features micro-credentialing with gaming for workforce readiness.
Tech+Jazz 2016 was held at the Rodney Square offices of law firm of Young, Conway, Stargatt and Taylor. Attendees were able to go across the street to the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival, named in honor of a 1950s jazz legend from Wilmington.
The mainstay jazz event brought overflow crowds to Rodney Square on a pleasant summer night.
