Two Wilmington restaurants are closing their doors.

Kooma announced the closing of its restaurant on the northern end of the Riverfront late last month, citing the rising costs of operating the Asian food spot.

Kooma was known for its sushi selections.

Kooma announced it would continue to operate a restaurant in West Chester, PA.

Also closing on Sunday is Bistro Jaques, a French -Belgium establishment at the former Mona Lisa location on Lincoln Street in Wilmington’s Little Italy neighborhood.

The restaurant ranked high on TripAdvisor, with numerous positive reports from diners.

However, it failed to get much notice among food reviewers in the area.

Bistro Jacques posted the following on its Facebook page:

“Regretfully, after three wonderful years, Bistro Jacques will be closing its doors on Sunday, May 8th after our Mother’s Day dinner. We are very grateful to everyone who has supported us and we hope to see you one last time. Reservations are greatly appreciated. Thank you once again for your support. — Jacques Macq and the Bistro Jacques Staff.

The post did conclude with the following:  “As they say, when one door closes, another opens. So stay tuned for what’s next.
